Three Stage Intake Manifold Conversion for 525i - 50+HP Gain!
#171
Ok guys, so I have everything but the G5 programmer that is needed to get a baseline tune for AA. My question for someone is this.........I have a weekend here where I can change out the Intake but want to know if anyone did this and drove it a bit before getting the tuning done? Did you throw any codes or have an running issues? I am looking at another couple weeks before I get the programmer and probably at least a month before AA would have my tune back to me. I have to drive this car.

I believe you can ask that question on this thread. I think it's the original. Lots of pics of the job too.

I went to masters, and they looked on engine and get the numbers from engin. Unfortunately my car is 2.5L.
Now i'm interested in changing stock cam shafts with sport Schrik cam shafts. spec said thath with this mod and chip tuning we can gain 40-50 HP.

Guys, I have decided not to do the upgrade to my 525xi. I purchased a 1931 Ford Model A Streetrod and would rather put the money into it. I have all hardware and parts purchased to do the upgrade except for tuning. The Intake setup with Adjusters already installed is from a 40K mile car and all plugs are still connected. I purchased the screws, tube, and gaskets from BMW. I will sell all as complete ready to bolt on if interested for $900 plus shipping. I am located in Iowa 50007, so when figuring your shipping cost use your zip code and estimate 25# weight. Box would be 18x18x24.
If interested text me 515-339-9456. I will accept MONEY GRAM (WALMART) only for payment and ship via UPS or USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation and insurance.

Hi Guys, I have found an intake manifold off an 330i complete with valves. I would like to know if I can just fit this in my 523i 06 E61 and get the tune at a later date. Also would I feel the difference by just installing it on?

Hi , I have bmw e60 525i 2008. I live in Brazil , and would like to exchange your engine for a N54 . Many will say " buy a 535i " but unfortunately in Brazil did not go with the 535i e60 body . The idea is to buy full engine wiring harness , engine module and CAS . They say the problem and make the systems talk to one another . if anyone can help me follow the vin number of my car WBANU51069C010000 .
thank you
thank you

I did this on my 528xi about 10 months ago. I have an OE Tuning tune. No local all wheel drive dyno, but my butt dyno shows way more torque. There is a write up on this for a 325 by member e90pilot on e90post.com/forums - it is actually a sticky on top of the normally aspirated section. He now has the AA tune. I did the manifold swap with a buddy who is very mechanically inclined in about 3 hours. Less parts are needed with the 528, but still straight forward. Good luck...
how much did this mod cost you, I have a ‘10 528xi looking to perform this mod

I am always suspicious of dyno test shops that can't even give torque numbers using the proper nomenclature. Torque is given in lb-ft, not ft-lbs. Ft-lb is work done, not torque. Also, the "butt dyno" is very unreliable and really shows acceleration, not torque.
