Wow I would love to do this. Some questions:

Once all the mechanical work has been done, is the car drivable without the updated tuning or coding?

Where in southern California can I bring/drive the car to for the AA tuning?

I drove with the 3-stage intake manifold for about three months before getting the AA N52 tune. I believe other posters estimated a 10 HP gain by upgrading the manifold without any tune. The N52 525i already has the wires that control the adjuster units that are part of the 3 stage manifold, but they're not plugged into anywhere in the 525i because the 1 stage manifold has no adjuster units.

Thanks for the response! One of the AA dealers listed (M shop in LA) is 3 blocks away from me. SWEET!

Sooo..

the M54 2.5l is not able to take advantage of this mod? I have a 2004 525i.

Did you see a mpg increase by chance?

BTW, any issues with SMOG or emissions certification with this mod? It would be my daily driver in Southern California.

bryanread,
Congrats on installing the manifold and completing this mod. My E60 still drives like the first day I did the upgrade. I've had the tune upgraded twice since by Active Autowerke and each time it feels like I've made even more gains.

Cheers!

Apologies for digging up and old thread, but can anyone confirm this can be done on a 2004 E60 M54 525i?

Thanks
