I recently purchased the V1 because of the praise it receives on this board, but does the V1 really go off this frequently in "city" environments. My previous RD would falsely alert a max of 2 times on my normal route to work. The V1 does it no less than 10 times. It seems that regardless of the mode I choose, this thing is constantly beeping. Do you all find the same? Any suggestions on how to decrease their number, or is it simply the price I have to pay for advanced warning? I can't imagine using this thing in a large metropolitan area considering the number of falsies I get in my little country town.

I have mine set at "L" and it's always picking up false bogeys. Lots of K and X, though a few days ago CHP was using K!

Mute it in the city. You don't need it on in the city.

What if I want to speed in the city? Ha Ha. Just making sure my unit isn't outside the norm.

Ha! No, that's normal. I keep mine in the little "L" mode, not the big one. It works great where I live. Sure, it goes off from time to time, but I know what's fake and what's real. And when it's real, I just wait for the arrows to tell me where. Oh yeah baby!

Capital L mode is what I've used for years -- turning off X band isn't a bad idea either but for me, I don't have too much trouble with false X signals.

Keep in mind that in Pennsylvania, only the state police can use radar so I don't use my V1 much in the city, just on the highways...
