For those with 166 wheels...

Leaning heavily to getting the 166's, but am being told I can't run a staggered set up and need to use the front rims all the way around. Is this true? What tires and tire sizes are you guys running? Any issues?

It's true only if you have an xi model (cannot stagger) otherwise, like everyone has mentioned, it can be done.

My Ride: Nov 2003 530D SE Auto in Mystic Blue with Grey Dakota Leather, Business Nav. Star Spoke 124 18"s, Blootooth Preperation.
Modifications so far: M5 spoiler, M5 trunk finisher, hometronic rear view mirror, Maple Wood interior trim.
Mods to come: M5 style quad exhaust and M5 rear bumper, Dechroming, black ebay grilles, tints, upgrade to factory amp, by the time I've done these, I'm sure I'll have thought of some more....
and you may want to consider using some spacers on the rear so the rear wheels fill out the wells better, I, and a few others on here, have found about 12mm (24mm total track widening) as offered by eibach spacers provides a pretty "proper" looking fill to the well, and a good alignment with the fronts. this is assuming you are using original 166m wheels though, its quite possible that replicas might use different offsets.

As a #166 replica owner, please consider not buying the replicas.
I am not sure that the savings are worth the trouble.
I lease my car, so the replicas made sense from an out of pocket perspective, but I am not sure that I would make the same decision if I could do it all over again.

CoolTones has
245/40ZR-19 and 285/35ZR-19 on his 166 OEM rims and the gap just perfect. No rubbing and no need for lowering the springs. I'll use this as my reference for future replacement with 166 rims.
