The drawback I've noticed is the auto-dimming rear view mirror does not work through the tint. My car was already tinted when I bought it, so I do not know the percentage.

My Ride: | 2006 550i | Silver Gray Metallic | Sport Package | 6-speed MT | Logic7 | NAV | CWP | Tan Dakota Leather | Stock 124s | 35% tint |
35% all the way around (minus windshield) looks great on silver gray w/ sport pkg. darkest I could legally go in VA - and I needed a doctor's note for that. had the same on my 540. Never been pulled for this.
hoping that doesn't change.

20% rears and 35% fronts. If you have a dark interior, this will work fine. If your interior is light coloured, use 20% all the way around. One thing about tints, is they make it hard to see in a dark driveway with rain pouring down.

What about the rear shades, how much does that affect the percentage or does it matter?

Has anyone used a nano-particle tint (sic). I don't want the glass dark, just good heat protection.
