go with the gp thunders. I had LEDs and were not satisfied and ended up sending them back because they also threw codes. I may have just had a defective unit, but I am 95% satisfied with the gp thunders. Trust me, I come from CCFLs on e46 and this is about as close as we can come...in my experience.

I think the other reason why stock halos are so bright is that they are yellow/amber...the white AE's everyone is looking to get at mid day is hard to achieve..we are going to lose some of that white light/brightness to blending with everyday sunlight as well...
