With the earthquakes I believe you may need the 2-ohm....perhaps someone else can chime in.

Where are you getting 6.5 from? The subs underseats are 8" subs and are 2 ohms, so if you planning to run the OEM amp you will need to get the 2 ohm version of the sws's. My question to you is why don't you run a better amp to the sws?

i was looking at my underseat grills and they were diffrent looking then some i seen pics of like mine are rectangle while some i seen were like a 6 point shape. i read somewhere they were 6.5 phillip mid driver under there but the 8 would fit because theres a bracket allowing the 6.5 to hit in there. i dunno. either way i ordered the 4 ohm sws-8's because im going to run them to a alpine pdx 5 channel amps. the 75x4 on my highes the 300x1 imma run the sws-8s at 150 a peice. that way all my amps are pdx series and matching.

They sound like crap. The oem subs sound better than the sws-8 when using the oem amp. There... I said it!

tru ive read that somewhere too. im assuming because the oem amp isnt powiring them enough and when u turn the volume up the lack off wattage just ditorts them. imma hook them up to a amp tho should see 100 watts each

Of course they sound like crap with the OEM amp... 40W max to each SWS-8 is nothing as they are not sensitive at all. They require at least 5 times that power (200W max/100W RMS).
