I notice a lot of back and forth on this topic, so let me drop my two cents in the mix: If you get your service jack under the front cross member (center jacking point) raise the front high enough to get your stands under the two jacking points behind the front wheels (pinch weld). WARNING!: make sure when you use the center jack point you (a) wedge the rear wheels so the car does not roll back, and (b) make DAMN sure that you repeatedly check the position of the jack's pad in relation to the cars center point as you are raising the car, because that center pad is flat, it has no way of grabbing and holding onto the jack's pad, making it VERY easy for the car to slip off as you are trying to raise it. Once you have your stands in place, carefully lower the car onto them. When you do this, you will notice that the nose of the car will drop a bit, once the nose has completed its decent, get another jack under one of the rear jack points and raise the car to your desired height. Even though you are raising only one side, BOTH sides will leave the ground and the entire rear end will be lifted. Place another jack stand under the other side, and now you will have all four wheels airborne. Make sure you leave the jack under the rear jack point in place and put your other jack (the one in the front) back under the center point just for extra safety. You will need two service jacks, and at least three jack stands with flat surface area.
Seems like a lot of work, but if you need all four wheels off the ground, I cannot think of any other way to do it.
