Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has added a subwoofer to their E60?? I cannot believe they designed this car with only Highs and Mids..I have ZERO low end!!! As far as I can tell, I only have 4 speakers...how could they havoe forgotten to address the entire low end of the sound spectrum?

Actually our cars do have 2 woofers under the front seats, unfortunately they are more like mid-basses instead of real subs. These can be replaced with Earthquake SW8's or similar 8" shallow woofer. BTW, there are 10 speakers in the standard (US Spec) E60 and 13 speakers in cars equipped with Logic 7 systems, you can tell which one you have in the iDrive - no EQ means no Logic 7 
I have upgraded all the interior speakers with a BSW speakers pkg, and added a single JL audio 12" woofer in the trunk powered by a 600 watt amp. Works way better now

Stock for stock its okay compared to systems installed in a Chevy or whatever, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Even with the logic 7, I had to put a 12" in my trunk too.

Excuse my ignorance guys, but I was under the impression that there were only 4 speakers. I ordered the BSW Stage 1 package for standard sound and it only includes 4 speakers (which lead me to believe I only have 4). I am not hearing any real bass coming out of this system which further led me to believe all I have is the tweets and mids in the doors..
If I am incorrect, please let me know.
As far as stock for stock, my little 08 Nissan Altima 4 Cyl with the stock stereo blows this car away. I was sorely disappointed in the quality of the audio system in this car...

Something is definitely break or out of adjustment in your bimmer. Have the dealership look at it. I last time I had my BT looked by the dealership, it was a user error.

As mentioned earlier, you have at least 10, if not 13 speakers. There are 2 subs under the front seats that sit flush with the floor. Make sure you have everything set correctly in the idrive. I have heard people complain about the sound but I have the Logic 7 and while there may be some room for improvement, I am an audiophile and love the sound! I have the bass turned up all the way, and while it doesnt thump and vibrate like people seem to like these days, it does provide good deep bass and clear sounds.
