No offense to any of you with the newer e60's, but I've not been able to wrap myself around the style 172's offered on the '08 & '09 550 cars with the sport package, and really prefer the 124's. I guess they seem closer to the 166's that make the M5's so hot. %The 172's seem closer to the wheels on the MB 550!

Anyhow, I'm just curious what the rest of you think.

As my lease return date draws near, I wonder about getting a newer 550, and switching the wheels with my present ones, and returning my car with the 172's on it. But, I'm guessing BMW might catch on.

I kinda went through this myself, but changing to 167s, when I threw away the RFTs. I opted for staying with the 124s and frankly I'm glad I did. They are easy to clean and have a classy clean look about them.

I love the 172s although they are a major PITA to keep clean.

But to each their own.

I don't think you'd be able to slide the 172 past the dealer.

Get the 166's with the M6 offset. Mount the TPMS and tires from the 172's. Sell the 172 wheels. Cheap mod.

I have been pining over the wheel issue for months now, and was set on the 172s then the 166s, then the 172s again, but now I think that I am growing to like my 124s.

They are fairly easy to clean and still look pretty sporty and very good when clean. It still remains to be seen what I end up doing.

I am in the same boat...I have the 124s and actually like them a lot. I really like the 166...172s look good spanking clean, but that seems to be impossible to keep up with

I have stuck with the 124s but keep getting the itch to go to the 166s/167s what to do??? SAVE THE MONEY AND RIDE WITH 124s

I dont like the bug look of the #172s I've always been a fan of the #166s. But if its between the #124 and #172 I'll take the 172s since they fill the wheel well more. #124s seems small to me now after having 19"
