I vaguely recall someone on this forum that bought that strut brace from eBay before but I forgot who. I have the Dinan one which looks exactly the same as the stock one except it's made of carbon fiber.

I think Pingy has it...

I ordered it also but I have been fighting for months trying to get it to me...

In fact, I am sure it was pinguhk! I had some PM's about it with him. It is very similar if not Identical. You should PM him and ask him about it. It seems like mine will never get here...

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

I was looking for these a while back and found a website called AdvancedJDMParts.com that had one for the E60. It was $160 plus shipping, at least if you were to order it there you'd have more assurance that it'll actually come.

Sorry to hear about your eBay dilemma tonymac, there's some shady people on there

Does it really perform like it says? On other cars it does, like my old Honda I raced, that thing had a TON of body flex in turns and the front and rear braces really helped keep the car planted, but on a BMW? I am skeptical that it would actually do much, these cars are so well engineered.

I think its more for looks, the car already has a brace and it most be working ok which is why dinan only made a CF one of the same as oem.

Do you remove the factory one? What do you do to the harness and positive terminals? Do these get mounted on the new bar?
