Have used search and found very good info on the removal of e brake handle. Nothing on Step shifter......

Is it as simple as pulling it off???

Sounds too good to be true.

ACS set up on the way....

It is as simple as that, just pull. Make sure to have your face out of harms way when it lets loose.

Correct, except be very careful to not twist the lever at all -- just pull straight up...

+1, I got a bloody nose and busted lip when I was pulling my knob off. It let loose, and I punched myself straight in the face.

easiest way how I did it was turn the key and put the shifter into neutral, that way you pull straight up. if it was in park, it would be a bit at an angle. just sit regularly, grab the knob with one or two hands and pull straight up keeping your head out of the way . (I hope I didnt set anything up )
