Does anybody know the part number for #8 in this image? RealOEM doesn't have anything. The image comes from Real OEM under Electrical Systems and Switches.

Neither buttons on my steering wheel are working and I think this wire is the problem.

There are a number of different part numbers depending on whether you have heated steering and/or sport auto transmission. The image above is slightly different than the one for my MY2008 550, but these p/n should get you started:

61316959355 - no/no (heat/SAT)
61316959356 - yes/no
61316976397 - yes/yes
61316976396 - no/yes

You can also try searching for "Wiring set, steering wheel"

Good luck!

Thank you for the information. I see the part number show up if I select a different car model. I just hope they fit back to the pre-LCI models.

You should also check the bmwfans.info site, as it sometimes has additional information on parts that isn't on realoem.com - like which parts can replace superceded parts, etc. I did a quick check for a pre-LCI 545i, and it did have the various part numbers for the wiring set - so you should be able to find what you need there (again, 4 versions depending on options).
