Hi,

Just want to share this site about state tint laws. There have been many questions about window tint so I would like to share this, it's very informative. For CA, 30% is allowed for the front sides, so if any of you californians got pulled over for tint, you can let the officer know about the tint law as many of the police officer does not know about the tint law all they know is that a car cannot have tint in the front sided.

Please disregard if this is a repost, sorry I have no patience for using the search function!

here's the link:

FWIW, Tintlaw contradicts most other sites for the state of WA.

Thats actually wrong......if you look at the site posted, it says 70% for the front sides, not 30%

commercial websites are garbage for stuff like that. you need to find a .gov website, like the state DMV website for info like that.

no tints on the fronts

However, legislation signed into law effective January 1, 1999, exempts from the above prohibition specified clear, colorless, and transparent material that is installed, affixed, or applied to the front driver and passenger side windows for the specific purpose of reducing ultraviolet rays
. If, as, or when this material becomes torn, bubbled or otherwise worn, it must be removed or replaced.
what about this one which is stated on that site? 30% is still transparent and is for the purpose of reducing ultraviolet rays.
