It's for both manual and automatic.

Doesn't the SB lower your fuel efficency? As all it does is keeps downshifting the car more often i guess?
It doesn't keep downshifting the car. Your BMW has a drive by wire throttle. Which means, it should only downshift when it is required. All the SB does is improve your throttle response (significantly), thus making your car lively. I've heard from some people that due to the improve throttle response, that fuel efficiency does decrease slightly.

Hi all!

Thanking this lovely forum and its memebers for the immense help provided to me, have solved quiet a few issues and made me much more happier with my 2008 e60-520d!

Currently a group-buy is going on, so i would like to make the best of it, but would like to clarify my doubt:

How good does the Sprint Booster perform in a Diesel e60? my car is the 520d - 177bhp.

All you guys with a Diesel e60 and Sprint Booster attached, please let me know your views on it... Has it really made drastic difference in acceleration?

Thanks a lot!
Personally I would convert it to SAT (sports Auto transmission) if you want to improve the driving dynamics.

I haven't tried a SB, but I have driven the standard auto box and now with SAT, and with the sport button pressed, things are a whole lot more "urgent" including sterring feedback.

Just my 2p worth.

Regards,

With SB, you'll feel like you're driving on SAT, but without the continuous high rev or the car not shifting as often.

Thanks all for ur comments, and thanking everyone else here recommending the Sprint Booster!

I have finally gone ahead and bought it , installed it, and am LOVING IT to the core!

I have a 520d 177 bhp. and the performance with SB is mind blowing! makes the car feel more powerful, and the pickup is on demand! Before this, i had a slight lag, and now that is all gone!

WONDERFUL is the word, and i too recommend this to everyone here considering it, or not considering it too!

Money well spent, enjoying it far more than spent on it! Bought from andy thru ebay.

(Someone commented in the forum, HK is much more nearer than we think, in terms of shipping, and that is true in case of this Sprint Booster from Andy! I got the box 3rd to 4th day of shipping! was really pleased!)

so conclusion, Sprint Booster in a Diesel car, is just PURRFECT! and even more benefitial for Diesels than Petrols, coz Diesels tend to accelerate a lil late than petrols.

Thanks again to the forum members!

I have a 535d Sport Automatic, with SAT, engine remap, and sprint booster. I had the remap done before fitting the sprint booster and don't notice that much difference with it, I think the remap gave a lot of the increased low end response that the SB is meant to give. Never tried an SB on an un-mapped car. This said, I can feel the difference, and for the sake of a couple of hundred quid I see no reason not to get and fit one if you are curious. If nothing else, it will get rid of that nagging "should I get a sprint booster" feeling that will remain with you until you fit it!
