Sprint Booster vs. Velocity vs. Nothing

Yes they do work, and yes it is quite an improvement. If money is no question, go with the Velocity (for the adjustability aspect). If money is an issue, the Sprint Booster is also an excellent product. The only thing I can imagine being affected is the clutch, if you drive a manual. It takes a little getting used to with the higher settings. ... and, if you forget to turn it off when your wife is driving the car... LOL!

I recently switched to a 550i and you need to be VERY sensitive with the throttle in these snow conditions. If you are happy to spend the money, then I would definitely recommend the Velocity version, so you can adjust it for slippery / dry conditions. If however you are in a part of the world where snow etc is very rare, then the SB is all you need IMHO.

I had the sprint booster in my car (545i 6-speed manual). I took it off and got my CDV taken out and it's a ton better in my opinion. There is no lag, shifting is crisp and smooth, power deliver is linear and smooth. Driving in traffic with a V8 and a sprint booster made my gas pedal way too sensitive. It became more work and less fun. On the open road it was nice though. But in the end do I miss it, nope.
I say try to find someone local to you who has either a sprint booster or velocity unit and test drive their car. I kept mine on because I bought my car with it installed and everyone seemed to rave about them. I took it off for kicks and I've never been happier. Also, compared to manual transmissions, all automatics (less sport ones and ones with paddle shifter) seem to "lag".

I had the SB before the Velocity came out. I'm not in the market to upgrade atm.
I do not remove my SB when I take my car in for reg maintenance to the dealership.
IF you were in the market to buy an SB or a Velocity, I guess I would go for the Velocity in your case.
I feel the option to select what mode you wish to drive in seems like a plus.
