...so if i wanted to get the manual version, i would get a light on the dash for the smg transmission, is that correct?

Rody's comment was the first I heard of this issue but I assume it's accurate. You will be happy with the automatic version.

I received mine yesterday......(ordered 9/28, shipped from HK on 9/29, arrived in LA on 9/30, cleared customs on 10/1 and I received it on 10/2). I don't get shipments that fast even if I order stuff from SoCal, so needless to say I am very impressed.

I installed it in less than 5 minutes and I have to tell the skeptics that YOU ABSOLUTELY DO NOTICE IT IMMEDIATELY. Crisp immediate throttle response from idle all the way to the red line. Those of you that have the SMG can get a feel of what the SB would do by driving your car in non-sport mode and then pushing the "sport" button and noticing how much the throttle response is improved. Well the SB improves the throttle response over the "sport" mode in a similar way. It's like having another "more aggressive" sport mode that has even faster throttle response. The only difference is that sport mode also improves shift speed and SB doesn't, but as ECF said because of the immediate throttle response it "seems" like shift speed is also improved.

Thanks to Joe and everyone else who "helped" me make my decision to buy the SB.....and thanks to ECF for arranging the group buy.

Congrats Rody! That's great stuff. Yeah, his delivery was insane. It takes longer to get across mid-town Manhattan, than compared to this part coming from HK which took under 48 hours to NYC.

When I placed my order I specifically asked for the manual transmission version (BDD401) and also mentioned that I have the SMG. Andy Wong then emailed me back with the following info.:

"I have shipped the BDD401A to your office address. I double checked for you. SMG uses BDD401A instead of BDD401. If BDD401 is installed, the engine light will come on. Anyways, you should be receiving it shortly. Email us if you have any questions. "

I received and installed the BDD401A yesterday and it works just fine.
