I'm seriously considering buying a sprint booster and I was just wondering what experiences you have had. Both positive and negative experiences are welcome. This would really help me make a final decision.

And I know that almost all of you guys are going to say "Go ahead and get it. It's awesome!", but I need something a little more constructive than that.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have a 2009 550i with Steptronic and have had the SB for less than a month. I have driven with the SB in all sorts of conditions. I do not believe that the SB totally eliminates the throttle lag between the application of WOT and the delivery of full power from the engine.

The SB does shorten the lag time and once power comes on, it comes on much stronger. In other words, it makes the gas pedal much touchier and more responsive. The car feels more powerful (it is not more powerful as SB does not increase the engine's horsepower or torque) because at the same level of throttle application, the SB-equipped car will provide more power. If you value a smooth throttle tip in (I don't), this may not be the mod for you as it is much easier to have jerky acceleration with SB. You can smooth it out with effort and learning to adapt to the SB.

Great insight! I should be receiving my SB soon, so i can post my experiences once I install it and report to you the difference in feeling.

What about in DS mode? Will there be any difference with SB? I don't have SB installed but I find the throttle response in DS mode is alot more responsive than in normal D mode.

I have this for a GB as you know and I can honestly tell you that I hate it. I dont have pedal feel anymore when I drive it. It's probably mostly due to my car being a V8, manual, and ECU reflashed. Then I drove my Ghostteck's e60 with a I6. It feels better than when I drove a I6 without sprintbooster. It's all personal preference. I have a heavy foot and love to mash on the throttle. That's why I also get 8 to 9 mpg in city.

My 550 in DS is considerably more responsive with SB than without it. Again, especially in DS, there can be some jerkiness in the acceleration with SB if your foot is not very smooth.

I'll join the chorus with quicker throttle response. At first, it seemed a bit jerky, but I guess my foot has gotten lighter to compensate. I really don't notice it that much anymore, but I imagine I would if I removed it.

I have an 06 530Xi (albeit with a stick shift) and I've had a SB on my car for pretty much this entire summer and I have to say:

IT IS A MUST MOD FOR AN I6 CAR.

And that's all I'm gonna say.
Yes.
Really.
