It plugs into your throttle cable by the gas pedal and it decreases throttle lag, and makes your car downshift sooner. It basically send a signal to the computer that you are pressing down the gas pedal more than you actually are. But "just giving it more gas" is different from sprintbooster. That is the basic run down

Yep. It's the best and most noticeable improvement for throttle response on the market.

Hey bmdavid, you should come out to our next NorCal meet on Sat May 23rd and I'm sure one of the members can let you try out the SB on your car. It takes five minutes to install. Click on the link in my signature to get to the meet thread.

I tried buying it online but got a weird error message (nothing charged). I sent them an email and still waiting for their reply...

Hey Eurocarfan, thanks for the invite. Maybe nextime, I will be out of town that day. I would love to go cuz I have a lot of questions about 545's. The reason i ask about the sb is because i just bought the 04 545 and it feels like its been chip or it has the sb. Because, the throttle is responsive and its quick. I test drove 05 545 and it didnt pick up like the 04 i bought. Im just trying to fiqure out if the previous owner did some mods to it. thanks for the invite.

Look at the gas pedal to see if there's a cable sticking out to the side or take it out to see if there's a cable about 4 inches in length plugged inline. There's a little round cap at the base of the gas pedal that covers a hex crew. Take that out and you can lift up the gas pedal.

I kinda doubt someone would leave it in there though since they can easily remove it and sell it on the side.

So I am wondering, how does it help the 6sp MT and what are the effects on fuel mileage?
