BTW, I've never taken my Sprint Booster out for any service at the dealer (including a transmission replacement last month under warranty), I'm not sure why C removes his, unless it's for the reinstall and moment of JOY afterward!!
I had an ECU and TCU update done on my car, the last time I took it in. Due to the increased throttle response, I didn't want the SprintBooster to give off the wrong signals and have them tweak the updates when I, myself, knew that nothing was wrong. Removing the SB was more for peace of mind, as these updates take time and can stall during uploads. I didn't want my car in the dealership for a week because of this.

But you're right. For the basic service updates, no need to remove it.

Can someone PLEASE answer this question:
(I have asked it 3x in other threads before
and have not gotten 1 response).

I realize this device does not add horsepower.

But does it make your car faster?

Let's use the 1/4 mile before and after SB
as an example.

thanks !!

I don't know why you guys like this thing so much. I tried it out and returned it, I felt like a 16 year old in a Honda Civic racing around. Just to jumpy for me, I would rather put it in manual mode and drive it that way.

You will probably get to the finish line 1/1000th of a second quicker, but it does not add power. Removing any type of "lag" will allow you to get from point A to point B quicker. However, what we're talking about here is negligible. Nonetheless, I still love it and wouldn't drive without it. I had it on my 2007 530 too, which also had an ECU remap too. As you know, the ECU remap removes throttle lag in one of its remaps. The Sprint Booster still made a significant difference in removing any lag that was leftover.

Well, just came back from lunch - "Honey I'm not coming home!" Ha Ha Ha

Got a chance to get on the highway - MAN! Didn't even need to use Knockdown feature and I was zooming!!! Was able to move ahead people with no effort. People down in South Florida cruise 80 mph so a good inch of throttle zipped me past 100 mph and beyond. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a young boy and far from an old man, but I do love response from the throttle when I hit it. I didn't get the 550i to drive slow in the left lane. Before the SB I felt the lag, now I do not. I read before that it doesn't increase your 0-60 but the 550i did change gears, etc much better than before. I'm happy with mine and can't see myself returning it or selling on e-bay. Also, while I do enjoy speed, I never drive crazy in traffic. By the way, off the line felt much better.
