Sprint Booster = Improved Mileage?
I've been getting better gas mileage ever since installing the Sprint Booster about 3 months ago.
For the first two years of driving my 550, I had consistently seen 15.5 to 16.0 MPG on a typical tank of gas driving around Chicago every day (not counting the long highway trips, which are more like 24-27 MPG).
But since installing the SB, I've seen better than 16.5 MPG on every single tank, including an 18.7 MPG achievement this week - all while driving the same routes around town (same times, same traffic conditions, etc...).
I noticed the improved mileage on the very first tank, but I figured that one was a fluke. But it's been consistently improved ever since .. for 3 months now.
How can this be?
Anyone else experiencing this miracle of the SB?

My Ride: 07 BMW 525i Premium Package, Xenon Lighting Package, manual Transmission. Titanium Grey, 20% Tint around the back, 70% V-Kool on front.
Planned mods: Style 71 wheels with Toyo Proxy 4 tires, Sachs suspension upgrade, upgraded stereo, and many more to come.
tachyon and I are the 0.01% that got better mileage with the sprintbooster.
i have a 525i manual and consistently get about 1-1.5 MPG better with sprintbooster
no idea why it would be, but it has to be due to the sprintbooster though since i didn't change anything else (same tires, same load, same driving condition)...

since the SB makes the throttle responce more sensitive maybe you're not squeezing it as hard and thus you see better mileage??

I find I can get better city mileage in DS mode than D. I think it is because the engine response is better so often less throttle is applied to give the desired effect.
In D mode I find the slower engine response causes me to push more throttle and potentially dump more fuel in. To take it to the extreme when climbing a big hill you can keep a steady throttle which gives max climb speed or you can floor it and use more gas while still not increasing your speed.
SB make the throttle more sensitive so your use of the throttle in stop start type driving may be more precise using marginally less gas. On long trip is should not matter.
The contrary effect is most people with SB still press the pedal as hard as ever and just enjoy the quicker response and use the same or more fuel.
