Hi all,
Does anybody know how often you're supposed to replace the springs/shocks on a 530i?

I'm about to run out of the original warranty and noticed a slight clunky noise every time I get out of the car, which has 46K miles. If I push down it also makes it.

That would be my argument to try to have the dealer replace them... what do you guys think?

yeah but these jerks always try a way around to not replace stuff. It happened with the battery a few months ago and they finally replaced it. Then same thing with the micro filter and finally the message to replace it came on so they replaced it, but it was smelling like shit even before the message. I feel they will try to pull back this time as well, so I need to present a solid argument.

Does that clunky noise mean anything?

It's certainly not normal. Get it checked out.

If your still under the 4yr/50,000 mile warrenty, go to the dealer. I had that problem with my oem but it only happens when i go over a speed bump. i couldnt replicate it when i brought it to the dealer. So, i changed them out to kw's, it was a good excuse!
