springs how long can u go

i just got 20'' for my car and i wanted to drop it can someone tell me whats the lowest i can go? the price i will be lookin at?

sorry ppl i cant spell how low not long can you go lol also i was wondering anyone do this themselves? was it hard should i have someone do it for me or is this a cake walk

Unless you've got a lift, a good set of Craftsmans, and know your way around a garage in the dark, I would recommend you take it to a shop and have the springs professionally done. It'll take about 2-3 hours, depending on how expert the shop is.

As to how low you can, I'm not really familiar with the stock spring rates for the E60, but if you just swap about the springs without getting new shocks, you'll get premature wear on your suspension system, run negative camber (meaning you'll wear out your expensive 20 tires prematurely with uneven wear), and maybe even some rubbing.

Without knowing the exact numbers, I'm guessing you can drop less than 1 inch without much problems if you get an alignment soon thereafter.
