Awesome thread.
Truly a coming together of like minded people.
I picked up all the hardware tonight and fitted the shifter.
Sports mode is nice. Makes the E61 feel alot more confident.

I think the wheel is an M5 version so next step is to get my head around that and then fit it.

Then I think I'm going to need some help with flashing and coding..
Anyone in Devon help me with this?

@J_K: I haven't been able to figure out where the part no. of the steering is, I was looking for it, when a guy sold me a steering claiming it had heating. However, you can share pictures and I think people here might help you confirm if it is the right one.

Good idea.

This is the steering wheel I have.
I know it has lane departure but I don't have a camera in the car and to be honest, I don't think it's all that great an option..

I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what I'd need to get and do to simply have a functioning sport mode on my car, I've read the first and last 6 pages of this thread and am just a bit overwhelmed and confused with the lingo being used as I'm new to BMW.

2010 US Spec 535i with the M package (m-sport?/m-tech?)

can someone please, in more basic terms or more in-depth, explain ? thank you in advance.

Thanks Likhan.
Shame it's just a normal 1.
I'd like the shift pattern the same as in the M5.
Right paddle for up and left paddle for down.

Nevermind..
