But I think, if I'm not mistaken, since the turbos went out and they are in the process of fixing it, they have to update the ecu and software,
So I stated to my SA to make sure that the sport button works and that my other coding, mirrors, windows, etc... will not be lost.
So I'm hoping that all will work after ECU and software updates

BTW, you can ask Simon on this board, he does coding, you could ask him, good luck
I think you may run into problems... basically your car's "VO" (vehicle order) will be showing that you have the standard auto transmission, not the SAT. As a result, when the computer is connected and they try to update software they are going to receive a bunch of errors that your modules are not compatible with the update and the update won't be allowed to proceed. If you look back through the thread, the VO needed to be changed to allow for the SAT to be coded.

I don't know enough about coding specifics to know if this could cause a bigger issue, but you may confuse the hell out of your dealer when they attempt to update your car. Maybe some of our coding experts could chime in on this?

Agreed. I think the dealer needs to know to have half a chance at making it work for you. They may not even be willing to give it a new VO. Depends on the dealer I think and how they go about doing it. I think they treat the VO as something that has to come from BMW.

Who knows exactly which modules must be coded to replace the $ 205 to $ 2TB? CAS, LMA, KOMBI or something else?

Anytime my car goes into the garage I switch the SAT shifter out for the original to save any issues.

I have never done that and see no reason to. The VO shows this module belongs to my car.

Hi
I read your post.

As I understand it, you just coded Kombi?

Also:
Yesterday I put a new shift box.
See below.

I made out my old shift box. I saw that the board has a connector for the sport button and have all the SMD component to which I installed in the old shift box.
PCB board also has place for connector of sport shifter.

I think I can be left my old shift box.

Hello Bert69,
I have been following all posts carefully. Can you send the pw for the paddleshift DYI you've presented in the forum. I will be ordering all parts listed from BMW and get a BMW specialist to install, but in the UK they are all still unsure of how to get paddles working after the simple SAT installation. Many thanks.

Today, I encoded a car!
What we have:
Standard shifter, shift box, sport button and paddles on the steering wheel.
See below.
It was necessary to change the firmware shiftboks as he did not see sport button.
I did not feel the difference, pressed or not pressed the button sport.

The Master says to change the firmware transmission ....... But it could be dangerous .... Transmission may die ...
What are your comments?
