It is long time, since it has been presented on BMW original retrofit catalogue 2005, that I am waiting the realise of sport exhaust pipe for my E61. So far no luck so I would go most probably with another brand. Does anybody know which looks better. Note that I would like to get one with the same size (diameter of pipes) and style of the OEM installed on 535d/545i and 550i.

same here, same here but no luck. You' re excatly right I want nothing special but the same pipe endning like on 535 or 550.
however the tail pipe ending is a single OEM part so I was thinking abot ordering the tips from 545 and having them installed on my car. Unfortunatelly I'm afraid of this install as well as I dunno where to get it installed anyway. BMW dealership woulb be probably nono and some suburb dirty garage is a nono either

Hi Peter

I am afraid we will have to bother BMW people in Dingofling, during the E60 World Meeting next July, to speed up the releasing of the sport pipe as promised in the BMW E60/61 2005 retrofit catalogue.

BR
Marko

P.S.: Keep me informed if you find anything suitable, I will do the same.

also what really upsets me that any kind of tail pipe mods requires cutting and welding. And I don't like that either. (corosion issue, etc, etc.)
unless there is a oem retrofit kit by BMW,. which is not

I think it has too aggressive look, I would go for something less flashy, that's why I am looking for an OEM or similar that at least looks like OEM.

Please help me understand, if BMW releases a sport exhaust pipe, wouldn't it be a new exhaust muffler and new tips? That would necessitate a cutting of the original muffler to weld/clamp on the new one. If that's the case, there are a lot of other sport exhaust systems out there to choose from right now...Eisenmann, B&B, Remus, AC Schnitzer, Supersprint, RDSport...etc....

Unless what BMW is supposed to be releasing is just exhaust tips.

I do not think you have to cut/weld the new muffler, I wold say that it is enough to screw the clamping bush on one end and to fix the rubber mounts on brackets. Many times the non OEM need to be also weld and cut. However I still think that an OEM would look less showy. however might also exist other manufacturer producing such mufflers, I will check out the list you gave us.
Thank you for the help.
