I have been thinking about an aftermarket exhaust (Supersprint to be precise) as I like their build quality and finish. But I just wondered if anyone has added sport CATs to replace the stock items?
Also, a Q for the diesel owners or anyone in the know, if I decide to go down the route of sport CATs and also remove the particulate filter, will it throw up any warnings or any issues? I guess it may smoke a little more.
Thanks in advance.

My tuner has a 330d E91: he tried to replace kats but he lost power so he reinstalled the old ones.

Having spoken to a couple of tuners here in the UK, it appears it may not be the best idea as the particulate filter could be an issue if it is removed. Thanks though.

Indeed: whoever comes behind you maybe doesn't like to see his car becoming black

If you remap the car, it is possible to shut down the particle filter.
There are some cars here in Portugal wich have had their particle filters removed without remaping and there were no warning lights going up!
In the E60 it is easy to try as it is on a straight part of the exhaust.
Give it a shot!
