Yep its a piggyback.

Although the recent reviews of the Dinan flash, buyers have been complaining of a pedal lag. Dinan is working on a fix right now, it may even be out already.

335i owner just dynoed his Dinan flash and posted the results on E90post.

Increase of 52 HP and 69 ft lbs TQ

The only numbers that matter are the differences between pre and post tune on the same car, same dyno. many bogus numbers online because the dyno operator can adjust the settings with two key strokes to inflate the numbers. Turbo engines make horsepower increases in direct relation to boost increases. N54 engines make appox 270 whp at 7.5-8 psi stock and the number goes up as you raise boost. If you don't adjust fuel and timing properly you will blow the engine. Of course the secret component is octane, my 535 gained .3 seconds 0-60 when I added 4 gallons of 100 octane race gas to 1/2 tank of 91 octane on an otherwise stock car.

I completely agree with this statement. I'd still like to know where the numbers came from that JetBlack5OC quoted from E90Post; if they were from the crank or wheel.

Yes those numbers are at the wheel, done on a mustang dyno.

Found this in the Dinan Press Release, I knew 90hp seemed a little high.

Many 535 and 335 owners think their cars actually make closer to 320hp and 340lb/tq (at the crank). This is based on comparable numbers on the dyno for 545i's for example. I would guess that Dinan starts with numbers like that to get their projections at the crank. These numbers are accurate vs a 550i for example if you were racing to 100mph for example. I think a Dinan flashed 535i (or 353i) would be quicker than a 550i to 60mph or through the quarter. . the reason I said to 60 or 100mph is because the larger displacement cars seem to excell at higher speeds. Many factory turbocharged cars tend to run small turbos to eleiminate lag but they also run out of poop at the top end. The best test would be to dyno a bunch of different models tuned and stock on the same dyno on the same day.

Back to the topic... I have both the SB and the SSTT installed (just got the SSTT today) and it's amazing! I got the SSTT from r1racer and just installed it and man it's quick! I definitely recommend it.
