Installed iPod/iPhone Specdock and LCI controller today, the specdock is an awesome piece of kit, 2point5`s (specdock makers) customer services are brilliant and I cant recommend them more.

LCI controller fitted and no more bloody haptic feedback , Did you hear me BMW!! a pre-LCI with out haptic feedback .

I have my LCI controller from my 2008 and I was wanting to install into my 2007 to get rid of the haptic feedback also - just havn't got to it yet.

Did you have to do anything in code to get rid of the feedback or was it all just in the hardware? Are the connectors the same?

The dock looks good. I really liked mine when I had it in.

To start with I thought it was just software but the LCI controller is much lighter that the pre-LCI which means the motor has been removed.

In CAPPL, code function ZBE with low_with_slopes.

Yes the connector is exactly the same.

is the CCC any faster as a result of the lack of the haptic feedback? I still have my old M-ASK non-feedback controller and I could pop it back in if it speeds things up.

Don`t think it would work as the trace function ZBE is set to low for the pre-LCI controller, worth a try I guess. Yes it is a bit better with out the feedback but not by much.

My pre-LCI iDrive controller haptic feedback become progressively weak during prolonged scrolling. I finally coded ZBE with low_with_slopes in CAPPL. The scrolling does not seem faster. In fact, one must keep spinning the wheel for continuous scrolling.

BlooD,
Did you have to program new LCI controller or it was just plug-and-coding (low_with_slopes)?

Thanks,
Fred
