Hobi, any chance of you posting an audio file of the sound of that beast revving or accelerating through the gears?

Not really sure what to say. That is unbelievable. I love the Alpina styling.

Where is the orange triangle at the front licenseplate for?? Garage plates or something???

They are trade plates because the car just arrived in the UK and early next week or even today, they should be registering the car to get a proper UK reg number.

Kris Odwarka (the face of Alpina) is coming over to the UK next week for a week long tour, driving the car to all the Sytner BMW Dealers to show the people there.

It's also getting jazzed up for the motoring press in the UK to do their articles.

Can one just get the super charger and inter cooler?

Afraid not.... for the moment at least.... The supercharger was made specially for the car and to Alpina's design so it is highly unlikely that we'd be able to get these parts from a 3rd party supplier.

In the old days, Alpina would do engine conversions but that was a long time ago... They are a proper car maker in their own right now.... maker of bloody fast cars with a great racing pedigree.

Hi Rudy

In my haste to get into the beast and DRIVE.... I completely forgot to take my vidcam with me - DOH!!!

Anyway, I shall try to hook up with Kris Odwarka after he's done his PR job in the UK and see if I can have another go in the car. This could be in the UK or in Germany.

Problem is that I'm going over to Canada on Thursday for a week, then coming back for the Netherlands meet on the 15th. It is more likely that I will try to drop in on Alpina on the 16th on my way back to Prague... I'll do my best.

JayEll: Sorry I missed off the front valance in the pics. I'll see if Ged can take a pic for us instead.

All the Best

Tim

I dont see what all the rage is about?

Verrry Verry nice, with only 6 made, I guess the chances of actually purchasing one of these is non-existent?

To date, seven people have placed orders for the B5 in the UK. I believe that these orders will be fulfilled in the next month or two. Alpina are busier than ever because the B7 is selling well, the B5 is just released, and the Alpina B6 is nearing completion too. Add to this the development work on the new E90 based B3 and you have one really busy team!
