Solar battery charger on my 535i
My battery can't keep up the charge with driving less than 3 miles daily on winter time, I always get battery discharge warning, that's annoying, instead of charging the battery every 1-2 weeks. I decided to buy the solar charger to keep it charged. used 1 month so far, and have not see the battery discharge warning.

Where do you have it wired? I have mine wired to the engine compartment engine boost terminals.
Putting it to the powered sockets doesn't work, since these are not functional when the key is not inserted.
Mine is a small 5 watt unit.

I definitely need something like this for the winter months. I make a lot of short trips and have noticed a slow start on occasion. Would you mind sharing where you purchased this? Thanks!

Bad idea to wire anything directly to the battery, since that would confuse the IBS and other systems related to the battery. That is why BMW tells us not to connect boosting cables directly to the battery.
I just ran the wires under the seats and carpets through the driver door up into the engine compartment.
Not sure where you would get a panel in the USA, but I got mine at Canadian Tire.
Salut, Bob P. go Habs go!
