Is there a way that I can find out the version of program (CIP) my car has? It is going in for some warranty work on Wednesday and it might need a software change. Having read the numerous problems I want to know what to expect.

Also, I have just purchased a Dension Gateway 500. Any one fitted one and can give me a few tips? Seen the pics on here of an installed unit but interested in any guide to install, particularly the fibre optics.

I have been having a real battle with fuel consumption. No matter how I drive I couldn't get better than 29mpg. In frustration I decided to read the owners manual. Played with settings on the iDrive and changed from US to UK gallons. Voila!! 40+mpg. Just a little warning to all other iDrive newbies.
