If I lower the car, do I need to just go H&R Sport and only about 3/4 inch down?

All you lowering experts---can I just add the springs to the stock OEM struts/shocks without risk?

Jay C
H&R sports should lower your 550 1.3" in the front and 1.2" in the rear. it is recommended to replace with aftermarket shocks when changing out springs. thats why many went with coilovers or changed to coilovers. but a number of members including me have changed out to either H&R sports or the eibach pro-kit while leaving in the stock shocks and struts. it was said those springs were made to complement the stock shocks and struts. its entirely up to you though. if anything the shocks would wear out a little quicker i think, but i havent seen anyone who left in the stock shocks and struts having any problems ::knock on wood::

edit: forgot you had sport package. H&R sports would lower your car about .6" in the front and .5" in the rear. and just make sure you get an alignment after a couple hundred miles of driving after install. good luck.

Ok, Socal and I have to get together to have an "exhaust off"..

Rody, you have the 545, so maybe my 550's extra 40HP makes the difference but I have no droning. (for those of you that don't know, both rody and I have the remus quad built for the 530, which is the single can, with dual pipes coming out) .. No droning that I can notice or hear anyway. With the AFE, it's sweet, but I have a feeling Socal's is louder. I get the great growl when I get on the gas, but not at a light or cruising... That growl is just awesome!

Socal, let's meet up soon! Come on out to the west side...
Peter, all the exhaust sections (headers/cats, front resonators, center resonator, etc.) are different on the 545 vs. the 550 (at least the part numbers are different)........so that may be a reason why mine has a little bit of droning and yours doesn't. I would love to spend about 15 or 20 minutes in your car to see if there is truly a difference.

By the way.......Jay's exhaust IS considerably louder than ours.

If you guys meet up let me know, I might join you.

Rody, did we ever find out what would happen if we yanked a resonator?
