This past weekend's trip to my local junkyards paid off big time. Ive wanted to upgrade to LCI tails for quite some time now, but the best price i could ever find on the forum & ebay was nearly $500...and that was before an additional $250 for retrofit cables. Call me cheap, but i wasnt willing to drop nearly $750 on rear taillights. Anywho...ive been trolling the junkyards here and there to stumble upon parts for cheap.

This weekend, I found some LCI tails, a trim piece that i needed to replace AND Light Control Module for LCI models (LM II). I uninstalled all the parts myself while at the yard, way too much fun for a modding junky like me lol. After a little of NCS Expert magic should allow me to program fade-on/fade-off lights and welcome lights. (i think) More importantly, via a coding solution from Ehssan, i should be able to easily install my LCI tails w/o the need for an expensive cable w/ the same lighting effects. (i already ordered the retrofit cable from the dealer just $35!!).

last but not least, anyone have any additional cool coding options that i may want to take advantage of with this new LMII module? ill be installing it and programming it in the next couple days. Oh, one more thing, anyone know how to open up LCI tails? I have something in mind that might be AWESOME! (but i dont want to learn anymore lessons the hard way lol)

Got the whole lot for less than $400.....

Good deal. I have been looking for some E60's at the yards here, with no luck. If you ever upgrade rims again, I got dibbs!!

Thats a great price you got for them. Any idea if headlights were on that car? I must do some searching.

Oh what. Lucky ducky. Make sure the LCM you found is the right one. There is a difference between halogen and xenon adaptive control module.

The retrofit kit is worthless without having the lci headlights. You will need Bruce cables if you don't upgrade the headlights.

great find for a great price. If in fact that is the correct LCM then you really did score big time. Congrats

Can you elaborate???

The OEM retrofit cables are supposed to be used for when you do the full lci conversion. I guess you find a way go make it work by using ncsexpert.

He may have AHL issues before coding, but the basic light functions of the pre-LCI headlights can remain in tact.

Some pre-LCI cars (like mine) came with LM2 but the coding reflected the old style lights.
