If I could find a written off car with SMG transmission and the correct parts in theory would it be possible to retrofit my automatic steptronic car with it ??

Does anyone know if they did SMG on the 530d's btw ?

Failing that I wonder if there is a way to speed up the shifts on the auto box a bit more somehow ?

TIA

In theory it's possible... in reality highly doubtful.

I couldn't get anyone to guarantee my car would work properly if I changed the rear end gear ratios because I have a steptronic trans.

The programming/computer/ECU issues would be a nightmare and no one would guarantee your car will work properly and the dealer certainly would not touch it.

I would say yes on a 530i/545i/550i, but don't know on the diesel.
Maybe it could work, but nobody knows.
If you have time and money to waste...

Thanks! To you too Marty!

I prefer a clean signature =)

I have OZ on the Mini: 8Kg each against 12kg of the 17" stock wheels.

Now there is a new OZ product: 6.35 Kg only! For comparison, a 166 weighs 11Kg.
