Finally today I went to the dealer to invert the left paddle .
Istructions were :
-----
Original SMG palddle functions:
Left and right paddles: pull for upshift, push for downshift
New inverted function for left SMG paddle:
Right paddle: pull for upshift, push for downshift
Left paddle: pull for downshift, push for upshift
In order the make the left SMG paddle work as describe above, one needs to swab BL/SW and BL/WS wires on the left paddle. If one cannot find those wire colors, just swabbing pin 1 and 2.
-----
The colors are wrong, but the theory is right .

You're welcome, Alex! ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)
Cannot blame me on wiring color
Blame BMW
, but at least I know what I'm doing and what I'm telling you to successfully invert the paddle shifter. Did I estimate the time right?
Great job! and Hope you enjoy it!

Dont you think it will need some time to get used to it though?
Anyways now you get closer to the m5 way of shifting which i like a lot

I would not be a fan of that mod. OEM lets me shift up or down with either hand. The switch would require both hands on the wheel unless I used the stick which I don't.

False : coming back home I have driven only with the left hand : switching paddles as I done you can drive like M3-M5 or with one hand .
IMHO to be practical I will need 1-2 weeks .
Anyway ... 10 min for switching, a few dollars .. Try!

It's DYI.
Disconnect negative battery cable
Remove airbag
Remove left paddle connector (3-pin) on the lower left. There are two 3-pin connectors on the left top and bottom. Top for multifunction buttons, and bottom is for SMG paddle.
Swab pin 1 and 2.
Put everything back together and you're done.
Good luck.
