Today I got to drive my friends 2008 SL 55 AMG and that thing was beyond amazing. I haven't been able to drive and M car yet, and that was my first AMG, but I mean: WOW! 5.5 Liter V8 Supercharged engine is a force to be reckoned with. I thought my 535i was fast, but this thing is simply put: *&)#$(*@#&)$(*@#&)$(*@
I suggest everyone should go and test a SL AMG if they let you.....
It's great![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
.....and you have to have the top down

My friend has one, and when I drove it, the car was pretty impresive and it was still stock. He now added a 150 shot of nitrous, upgraded intercooler, exhaust, intake etc. I'm affraid to drive it now
and my weekend warrior is a ~450 hp Supra. The torque on the SL55 is nasty!!

A stock M5 cannot compete with a stock E55, E63, SL55 or SL63 in a 0-60 sprint. The AMG engine is a torque monster. The M5 V10 makes its power up high in the rev range.

True, but if you want a drag racer -get a Camaro. I have always felt any idiot can go fast straight, and after having been a road racer I still feel that way. Things change quite a bit when there's turns - actual skill is involved.
