Can anyone explain how the BMW rack works? I used the key, opened it and can see how to put a board or skis in the top flat part, but if I have several pair of skis, how do I get the skis in the little angled sections? sorry if this is dumb

 

Once you've lifted the top (flat/snowboard) section up, there is a rocker tab on the end of the holder that you need to press the top of. Pressing the top of that tab will release the catch holding the "top" of the angled/ski carrier section. Basically, there are two separate bars holding down the skis/snowboard - you release the snowboard one first to access the ski one.
