Couple of quick questions if anyone can help:

Firstly, I have satellite radio prep on my 550, if I were to have the dealer fit and activate Sirius what should I expect to pay? We already have Sirius on my wife's car so I can get a discount on a second subscription but would a new install come with the free year of service anyway?

Second question relates to the iPod interface. I have L7 and I have the CD changer prep. I do not have the changer installed. I have Progman V23, apart from the install of the interface itself itself, should this mean I just need to activate the CD changer input in iDrive (i.e. a pretty quick process)? I had a quote of near $700 from my dealer and that included about 3.5 hrs of labor, with the V23 s/w and CD changer prep shouldn't this be a lot less?

Any input gratefully received!

I can't say for sure but I think you'll still get the one year free service with Sirius. After that you'll need to pay for the additional unit (not full price).

As for the iPod interface, that's way too much labor. The unit itself plus, at most, one hour of labor is reasonable. I think CIP 23.01 seems to work, at least that's what I have and it worked just fine. CIP 23.02 has issues with the iPod interface. I don't know if that's been corrected yet.

Thank you Sir. I'm assuming that CD changer prep amounts to the same thing as removing an existing changer to install the iPod interface. I'll speak to the dealer tomorrow and see if I can get a more reasonable estimate!
Cheers
