Yeah, I asked him about moving them outwards. B/c the battery is on the right side, it makes it very difficult to move it outwards. He said he could try shaving down the battery box in order to move the tips more outwards.

As far as low end torque - he used the same 2" piping in order not to lose any back pressure.

do they have oval staggered tips =)

If he can give me a good pricing on your tips staggered, I'll probably go there and get the tips installed

I think you might have lost back pressure. You don't have a crossover (x-pipe or h-pipe) to equalize the exhaust fumes exiting from the left and right banks. You have a straight pipe setup. What you did is gain hp up top.

I am not too knowledgeable on exhaust stuff. When you say that I may have lost back pressure, do you mean that I will notice a more sluggish start? He mentioned that he was using the 2" vs a 2 1/4" piping to not lose any back pressure. But I guess by removing the existing x pipe I would lose some pressure?

Thanks

Here's the shop's info for those interested, ask for Serge:

Haha. I'm going to lower it once I get the wheels. Right now I'm leaning towards the m172 with the Chrome shadow finish as seen here

So, do you guys recommend I ask the muffler shop to install an X-Pipe and replace the massive resonators with smaller ones?

Yeah, the x-pipe will help the exhaust scavenging.

172s look great but I think on a black car stock finish looks good ,brighter vs darker would look better IMO

I agree. They have found that that the H pipe pattern actually helps pull the exhaust out quicker (pulse action- one side helping the other?).

Loss of back pressure = loss of low end torque. You'll be a tad slower off the line, but the trade-off is more horsepower top end. I would recommend a x-pipe to replace the two long resonators. The x-pipe will help reduce the noise and loss of back pressure.
