Window tint is typically measured in VLT (Visible Light Transmission)
So.... the lower the number, the less visible light transmission = darker film.
20% is darker than 35%
5% is darker than 20%
20% is pretty dark. Illegal in most US states for automobiles.

My Ride: 2005 545i SMG. Titanium Grey with Grey interior and Anthracite wood.
This is 35% Huper Optic. The photo was taken at 5:00 pm in October, so the lighting was kind of dark.
I think your tint is closer to this.

Depends what look / use you are going for. I had Huper Optic 35 on a previous BMW, but opted for the Huper 50 this time. I was surprised when I looked at the small sample sheets the dealer had, I found the difference between the two as far as the 12"X12" samples to be noticeable but more subtle than I would have thought. There is a look that I have seen a lot on Mercs where the tint has an almost smoky appearance to the tint when seen from an oblique angle rather than just being dark. I think the Huper 50 gives the same cool/ classy effect.

for dec delivery
My experience is optical and % means transmission-35% means 35% of light gets through. In many respects this is a non linear function. That is 25% tint reduces light by 1/2 not 1/4.
The pictures in the post are biased by the ambient conditions, car interior lighting, and exterior light.
Practically, 40-50 is ok but makes no style statement, 30-35 looks hot, 20 is back seat limo stuff. I'm going with the 30-35 with my SG next week (I have same on my red 323 and it dresses the car nicely.)
