Hey guys for those of us with the manuals don't you think the throws are a bit long? i mean its ok i got use to it but the throws can be very long at times. i was wondering anyone know which short shifter works best with our cars? any comment is good because at the last NYC meet i asked a couple of guys but they were also unsure of which ones to get because we didn't know if the alignment of the new shifters will work in place of the BMW ones.

2005 545i 6-spd manual---->de-badged, CDV removal, Autosolutions short shift kit, resonator removal, premium package, PDC, xenon, almost full options, hardwire V1 install ....looking for mods...
2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
I use rogue engineering ssk on both the 545 and 550 and all I can say is that it does its jobs and are reliable thus far. Get it!! I also got the weight selector rod and it works great. Also, if you have not already done so, get a modified clutch delay valve (CDV) from zeckhausen (do a search on this forum it has been covered a billion times).

I think the rdsport ssk is the only one listed to fit a 530i, however now that I have fitted the oem 373 short shifter into my 530i I wonder if the uuc or rogue ssk will work even though they don't list for a 530i?

Just got my bmw performance shift knob in and with the 373 shifter its a great combo. Its got that nice short look and the weighted knob feels great, the only complaint would be if the shifts were even shorter that would be better. But this is a great oem solution and very cheap in terms of the cost of the shifter the shift knob was a different story.
Compared to the zhp knob that everyone likes the bmw performance knob is about the same weight, its smaller and a littler shorter. The alcantara feels great on the knob and it has a sporter look then the zhp knob.
