Hey everyone, i recently tried to do a Nav rerofit and during the process of putting in my CCC unit and taking out the MASK unit i scratched the sh!t out of my shifter trim. As you guys may know it has that soft-touch treatment to it that scratches easily or peels after time. I usually keep my interior spotless, so having the shifter trim look like that was a definite eye-sore for me. So, i decided to paint it a high-gloss black and figured out a way to cover up the deep scratches to my plastic piece that shows the P R N D.
-First i removed the trim (it pops out with a screw driver, using it as a lever just lift up)
-Then i did a cut-out of the plastic trim piece with the transmission position indicator. i just used some clear plastic sheets i bought from an arts & crafts store
-painted the clear plastic trim black w/ Nite-Shade tail-light tinting spray paint....this makes it black in appearance but translucent so the letters and orange LED light still shines thru in the daytime and at night
-Then i sanded off all the soft-touch OEM treatment on the shifter trim piece
-Primed all parts with an adhesion promoter for spraypaint
-Painted the trim piece with a high-gloss black
-Allowed 24 hours for full dry/curing
-Installed all the parts (super glued the black plastic shifter indicator pieces together and back onto the base)
What do you guys think?

you may have forgotten to plug in all the wires underneath the trim piece. there are three separate plugs, they power the light module and also communicate which light to illuminate. if you forget one of the three....it wont light up properly. take a flat head screw driver, lift it all up again and make sure your connections are sound...
