Just got mine done today, what a differnce it makes getting rid of that chrom!!! The Glossy black is perfect & looks great..waiting for the Black grill to come in now!

"Saves a ton of money" ? WTF, real trim costs like 200 bucks and you can actually wash it and take it through a car wash without it peeling on you. I tried the cheap way and finished 1 window, ripped it all off, slapped myself for spending 20 dollars on that crap, and ordered the real thing the next morning.

Eventually you're going to do the same thing... everyone does.

I've been debating having mine removed and painted gloss black though. Only problem with that is it would involve removing not just the shadowline trim, but the thick trim ON the doors and rear window separator.

How hard is it to remove the OEM chrome trim? Is this DIY or do I need to take it to SonicMS for the trim removal and replacement?

Same thing happened to me. OEM is way better.

It's very easy. All you need is a screw driver, hammer, and some cloth to keep the trim from springing back and scratching your car:

BTW, with the vinyl tape, if somebody runs their fingernail across it, it would leave an indentation mark that you can't really get rid of. That's what made me get the OEM. The tape is too soft.
