Yes, this is a known E60 problem.

It has to do with the power seat connecting relay that is located under the first muffler.

Just undo the left rear wheel and the exhaust pipe and you find the relay.

Just replace the relay (some $200) and the problem is gone.

Ok nice - now i have an error message (airbag etc) ... tomorrow i?ll drive to bmw and delete all errors and hope the wont come again.

I cant understand, why the driver seat works 100% (incl. the memory function) and the passenger seat only moves when i move the driver seat. after hours of reading the wiring plans, i think they are correctly wired. could it be an software problem? is it needed to programm the car/seats/whatever for this new seats? if yes, why the driver seat works fine???

Please help ...

p.s. why i cant send messages??

Ok last report:

Today at BMW: Errors deleted and never seen again. We checked the seatmoduls with the bmw-pc (tester) and the dont answer, BUT when i press a button (for example seat adjustment) the pc registrates the correct command (you can test each button).

i?ve made some pictures from my cables.

You see 5 single modified cables and no black connector, like on the other picture you see lower.

There is phase, ground, Can Hi, Can Lo and a second ground.

At this picture, the can cables are yellow and black - the WDS means that too.

So why i have no yellow and black cable? The orig. Seats were "Sportseats" - maybe there is no "black connector" normaly? And what kind of function has the blue/white, blue/black and blue/black and brown CAN cables, where the seats are connected? When i switch these modified can cables, the seats are dead ...

Somebody any idea?
