It looks like we can clear the ABG module to see it it gets rid of the root cause for the error and the INPA module to wipe the error itself. If the hardware is at fault the error may very well crop up again but its worth a try.

 

There's no INPA module. INPA is the other app besides NCSExpert. Basically when you launch INPA, select E60, and then a menu will come up to allow you to dive into the particular menus. If you are unsure, you can always clear all errors by selecting "functional jobs".

 

Ah, gotcha Simon. Thanks!!!!! I have a copy of INPA 5.00 but I've never used it. Time to learn some more.

 

congrats simon! what module did you have to recode?

anyone have any idea what module is the belt tensioner? i can't seem to clear this with inpa going to try what Simon did

 

R9andy, the module is ABG. I believe belt tensioner is contained within that module as well, unless the earlier cars are different.

Had my dealer clear the error for me when I took my car in for service - Such a relief to get rid of that dam message I saw everytime I got in the car

 

^ same, i brought my car in for the brake booster line recall, got my car back, and the error message was gone

 

Just to clarify, there is not just one type of this passenger restraint error. The one I had was not clear-able, unlike TRB and cgeetaryan's.

 

Hi Simon, can you elaborate on this? I'm trying to clear my error using INPA. How do you get to the ABG module, the closest I can see is the "Airbag ACSM" under Body\Seat Modules...Even if I do it under there I don't see a place to initialize the airbag sensors.
