I'm looking at purchasing a Schmiedmann quad exhaust setup for my LCI 550i. I have been searching around the net with little to no information on this setup. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this kit? It pretty much looks like a RD Sport setup for half the cost.

Upon digging around the web I found this video. It exactly what I want from sound and looks...

Here is a link to the kit. Not sure if this is a reputable dealer or not? Anyone sell this kit in the US?

Thanks!

I have no experience of that product, but it's a good dealer, for sure!

Great thanks! I wanted to make sure it wasn't a knock off style product or the like, especially after reading some horror stories about competitors products.

Guess I might be the guinea pig in the next couple of months if I pull the trigger...

Careful with Schmiedmann if you're in the US. I ordered my Rieger rear apron from them, and the shipping calculator is horribly inaccurate. It accepts your order and bills you, but then they email you weeks later saying it hasn't shipped because you owe additional $ for shipment. Talk about bait and switch!

Shipping was over $300 for an oversized but light (30lb) box from Denmark, I cannot imagine what an exhaust would cost! I had to pick it up, pay import duty, and do my own legwork to clear it through customs on top of that. It took 3 months to arrive. Plus it was missing parts and Schmiedmann stopped responding to emails once the sale was over.

I cannot recommend them one bit. My recommendation is find a US-based distributor and let them deal with the hassle.

Great, thanks for the tip! How much was the import duty?

Don't remember, it is based on declared value. Go to the Customs and Border Protection website, they should have a fee table there.

Bump. Anyone with any experience with this exhaust? I just stumbled on it yesterday. $1200 US is actually a reasonably priced system.
