Any good, fairly priced scan tools that work well with our bimmers? (e60, e63s?) off ebay? Check codes, clear them etc?

I bought one of the basic Actron Scanners as I got a check engine light from my intake as it wasnt installed properly. I hooked it up, the scanner reads the code. you can look up to see what it is in the manual and clear the check engine. So I'm pretty satisfied and it was only a little over $100 and a visit to the dealer one to clear the codes is the same or even more. So I'm satisfied.

I have a Auto Xray from Kragen, good company. I had it head to head with a snap on machine and it performed as well. just didnt have the manufacturers discs that you can add to the snap on. Also the xray downloads your results to the PC using their software.

I bought the Equus Innova OBD-II code scanner from Sears for $69.99. Worked like a charm... I was able to read the error code along with clearing the Service Engine Soon light on the dash AND the Increased Emission warning in the iDrive.

I wish there was a system like the Vagcom for BMW's . I love going in to the Audi dealer with a list of Audi specific faults that they did not fix since it does not throw a OBD II code....

You don't need it. I thought you are richer and you can afford paying to run a diagnostic at the dealer... Or sell your bimmer and buy a lada then you can use the scan tools. Make sense? lol
