Rubber on Bumpers

I am old school, yes those painted bumpers looks nice when untouched,but what do you guys do when they make contact with others. I have seen so many park by feel drivers it drives me crazy.
I have an old BMW with rubber firmly bolted on to make the first contact. Anyone with suggestion(s) to remedy or retrofit?

dont do it!!!!!!!!!!!!! get that bumper bully if you need to.. worst case scenario
