My Ride: 2011 550i AW - every option
I'm faced with a new wheel/rubber issue. All four rims are cracked and/or bent from potholes so I'm grabbing a set of 167 reps asap.
two sets of wheels. both are 167 Miro reps.
One set comes with General Exlcaim UHPs (which i read have very soft side walls and not good for hard cornering)
Another set comes with NEXEN N3000 TIRES.
Does anyone have any input on these? I currently have Dunlop RFTs and love how they handle and everything about them, granted the only other tires I've tried were some cheap ass budget non RFT tires that I had to put on while my Dunlops were shipped.
I hear a lot of mixed information about the UHPs. A lot of people love em, but this soft sidewall issue and feels like 'cornering on rubberband mesh" thing is concerning.
Unable to find too much about these Nexen joints.
Nerweezy, come THROUGH with GOOD rubber man!

Go with the Generals unless you plan to keep your E60 on the track all the time.
P.S. - Do not buy replica wheels lest you enjoy replacing cracked or bent rims frequently.

Damn. I thought Miro Reps were decent though. My OEM 124s are obliterated by potholes (cracks in multiple places, bends, and chips).
I heard the Generals are weak on hard cornering. I get carried away sometimes when I see some nice curves.
Thanks for the reply though.

I currently drive on N3000 and it's very good tire. I'm actually on a second set(replaced about 5k miles ago).
The 2 rears lasted about 35k miles and i still haven't replaced the 2 fronts yet(still good amount of tread is left).
I'm very satisfied with it. You can't beat the price!! I would say unless you are looking for an extra few tenths on the street/track,
I don't see why spend $1000+ on a set of tires. I just don't think that's very worth it. But of course, that's just me as I don't track my e60.

My Ride: 2004 545i, Sport and Premium package, Titanium Silver with Black Dakota Leather interior
When I bought my car last November from a private luxury used car lot they had put new tires on... Nexxen in the rear and Sunny in the front. Never heard of either of them but they had less than 1000 miles on them so I didn't complain. My only complaint after 2000 miles is "road noise". I don't know if it is from the front or the rear but they are loud! Sounds like I'm driving a jacked up truck with nubbys Traction however has been very good in both dry and wet conditions.

My wife doesn't know if I'm on a cellphone while driving(70mph) unless I tell her that I'm driving and talking on the phone.
